Terms of Service
Last updated
The terms for using OiPer Desktop, the oiper.com website, and OiPer's hosted services, including accounts, acceptable use, paid features, and liability.
Effective October 12, 2026.
These terms are an agreement between you and OiPer ("we", "us") covering OiPer Desktop, the oiper.com website, and OiPer's hosted transcription and formatting services (together, the "Services"). By using the Services you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Services.
Using OiPer Desktop
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use OiPer Desktop on devices you control, for as long as you comply with these terms.
You may not resell or sublicense the application, remove or alter its notices, or attempt to circumvent limits on paid features.
Accounts
Local features do not require an account. Paid and hosted features do.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account has been compromised. Give us accurate account information and keep it current.
Acceptable use
You may not use the Services to:
- break the law, or infringe anyone's rights;
- record or transcribe people without whatever consent your jurisdiction requires;
- produce or distribute content that is unlawful, or that harasses, defames, or endangers others;
- interfere with, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Services or the systems they run on;
- resell the hosted Services or resell access to them.
Plans
- Free: local transcription with models you download. No hosted features.
- Pro: hosted transcription and formatting for up to 3 hours of audio a day. The day resets at midnight UTC.
- Max: unlimited hosted transcription and formatting for your own use, with a ceiling of 20 hours of audio a day that exists only to prevent abuse.
Hosted features need an active Pro or Max subscription. There are no free trials.
Payment
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders: it processes your payment, issues your invoice, collects sales tax or VAT, and handles refunds. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle's Buyer Terms.
Prices are in US dollars and shown before you pay. Depending on where you live, tax is either included in the price or added at checkout.
Pro and Max are billed monthly or yearly, in advance, and renew automatically until you cancel. If a renewal payment fails, hosted features stop until the payment goes through.
Changing plan
Upgrading takes effect immediately, and you pay the prorated difference for the rest of the current period. Downgrading also takes effect immediately, and the unused part of your current payment becomes credit on your Paddle account for future payments.
Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time from the billing page of your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for, and you keep your plan until then.
Every payment comes with a 14-day money-back guarantee. See the Refund Policy for the details.
We may change prices with reasonable notice, effective from your next billing period.
Gifts
We sometimes give Pro or Max for a set number of months through a gift link. A gift:
- can be claimed by one OiPer account only, and only by the email it was made for, if any;
- must be claimed before its deadline, which is 12 months after it was made unless the link says otherwise;
- can't be claimed while you have a subscription that hasn't ended or another gift is running;
- has no cash value, and can't be sold, exchanged, or refunded.
When a gift ends you return to Free, unless you have set up a paid plan to continue after it. We may revoke an unclaimed link, or end a gift that was obtained through fraud or abuse.
Transfers
Your account, subscription, and gifts are personal to you. They can't be transferred, sold, or shared with another person, moved to another account, or merged with another account.
Third-party providers
In cloud mode, OiPer Desktop sends your data directly to the provider you configure, using
your own credentials. Your use of that provider is governed by your agreement with them, not
by these terms. We are not responsible for their availability, output, pricing, or handling
of your data.
Your content
You keep all rights in the audio you record and the text OiPer produces from it. We claim no ownership of it.
For hosted features, you grant us only the limited licence needed to process your submission and return the result to you.
Automated transcription and rewriting make mistakes. You are responsible for reviewing output before you rely on it, and you should not use the Services as the sole basis for decisions where an error would be harmful.
Availability and changes
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services. We will give reasonable notice of changes that materially reduce paid functionality.
Termination
You may stop using the Services and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if required by law, or to protect the Services or their users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — such as disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law — will survive.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that transcription output will be accurate.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising out of or relating to the Services.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the amount you paid us for the Services in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply to you only to the extent permitted.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will update the effective date above and, for material changes, notify account holders. Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, and the courts of Dhaka, Bangladesh have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
